Skill Building Sites

FCAT Explorer
This is the website students are using in class to practice for the FCAT Reading Test. Information was sent home with your child's log in name and password. Please remind students to let me know when they've worked on the program at home, so I can monitor their progress.
Scott Foresman Success Net
This is the website that corresponds with our math series. Log on information was sent home with your child. You can access the textbook, along with test practice, and games to build skills.

Book Adventure
This site allows your child to take tests on books he/she has read. It is similar to the Reading Counts program we use at school, but this one is accessible from your home. Log on information was sent home with your child. You can register your child from home if you have misplaced the school log on information. This site is run by Sylvan Learning Center.
RESOURCE SITES

The Lexile Framework for Reading is a scientific approach to reading measurement, providing a common scale for matching reader ability and text difficulty. This allows educators and parents to quickly estimate expected reading comprehension and monitor progress. Tens of thousands of books and tens of millions of articles have Lexile measures, making Lexiles the most widely adopted reading measure today.
Scholastic Reading Counts e-Catalog
This website allows you to type in book titles, view their lexiles (when applicable), and also see which club and month the book was available for purchase. Feel free to go to Scholastic’s Homepage to see what links they offer for families.

This is an free online site that I use to keep track of favorite places on the Internet and websites I use in class. Look for the folder with the smiley face next to it for places to visit with your child. It hasn't been updated in over a year, so please excuse the excessive folders.
Preziosi's Pride Online Scrapbook at MyFamily.com
This is a password-protected site, which students are invited to join at the end of each school year. Only students who return the signed parent permission form are allowed access to the site and/or have their pictures posted.
